Being Selfish When You Live with Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar stigma sends a message to the public that those of us with bipolar disorder are self-consumed, we’re selfish. Because I’m a person with extreme empathy and I’m constantly trying to reduce stigma, I find it hard to say “no” to people; which means I’m overcommitted and stressed out.

Now I’m learning to be selfish with my time and, of course, I’m facing the stigma of “You’re like all the other bipolar people. You’re selfish too.”

Watch the video, visit my blog post on this. And I’d like to know if you find it difficult to be selfish when you live with bipolar disorder. Comment or send a response video to info@ healthyplace.com
