Three Ways Exploring Nature Benefits You

October 12, 2016 Arley Hoskin, CMPS

I spent the past four days exploring nature in Arizona. This little get-away reminded me how much bliss I achieve when I explore nature (Natural Treatments for Depression). I thought I’d share the benefits I gain when I explore nature.

Exploring Nature Clears Your Mind

Exploring nature can help you in many ways that also improves your mental health. Explore nature to get these benefits. Find out what they are. Read this.As someone who has bipolar disorder, my mind sometimes starts to race. It’s important for me to slow down sometimes and I’ve found that exploring nature is one of the best ways for me to achieve this. When I’m out in nature—away from all the screens and noise—my mind starts to rest in a way it simply can’t in my day-to-day life.

Going for hikes or doing other outdoor activities is one way that helps me get rid of anxiety.

Exploring Nature Cultivates Creativity

I’ve heard people describe nature as God’s masterpiece. Whether or not you believe in the divine, it’s hard to dispute the beauty you experience when you explore nature. I find that my creativity thrives when I spend time in nature. And this isn’t the racing creativity that I experience during mania. It is a creativity that produces ideas that are rich, calm and deep.

An important part of achieving bliss is cultivating creativity because it helps build self-esteem.

Exploring Nature Connects You to Others

I tend to be a spiritual person. I think it’s that spiritual side that enables me to feel connected to others when I explore nature. The exploration connects to nature. And when I feel connected to nature I also feel connected to those around me. It’s as though exploring nature reminds me that we are all somehow connected to the universe. This connectedness provides peace and bliss.
