Positive Attitude

It’s hard to experience peace in uncertainty. If I always knew how the chips would fall life would be easy and I would be happy, right? I’m not sure if certainty really leads to bliss, but I do know it’s possible to experience peace in uncertainty.
Developing emotional resilience does not exempt you from life’s stressors. It helps you maintain hope when you have to face those stressors (Resilience: Getting Up When Mental Illness Knocks You Down). If you can learn how to bounce back from difficulty, you will adapt rather than succumb to adversity. Learn how to develop your emotional resilience. Here's how.
One of the best lessons I’ve learned about living a blissful life is to be happy with what you have. Being happy with what I have has helped me achieve a peace that I never had when I was looking for that greener grass on the other side.
I believe that positive actions will lead to positive thinking. To paraphrase Mahatma Gandhi, what you think ultimately determines your actions. Last Friday I found myself searching for every stress relief tool I had (Stress Busters: 22 Ways To Be Kind To Yourself). Someone had stolen my car while I was sleeping the night before. I desperately wanted to stay relaxed and peaceful in the midst of the chaos. I needed some stress relief, and I needed it now.
When it comes to emotional healing, I see more and more how important our sense of worthiness is in the process. Emotional healing can't happen if you believe you're worthless. I created a video about worthiness and belonging a few weeks ago, and I can’t seem to shake the importance a sense of worthiness has in emotional healing and in living a blissful life. So I decided to do a follow-up blog to include emotional healing.
I recently realized how the power of gratitude can help in times of anger, anxiety and fear. Negative emotions can overwhelm us and spread like fire. But the power of gratitude works like a fire extinguisher when it comes to negative emotions.
Mornings can be rough when you have a toddler so it’s important to have positive thought techniques in your arsenal to turn your day around. Last week my daughter peed on my leg, used my shirt as a kleenex and spilled milk on my purse — all before 7:00 a.m.. I could have let this rough start shape my day in a negative light, but instead I used positive though techniques to reframe my day and turn it into the story that I wanted to live.
